Opening Hours : Monday to Saturay - 8 Am to 10 Pm
Orthodox Good Friday, known as Arbi Siqlet or Qeddus Arbi in Eritrea, is the day observing the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is characterized by strict fasting, all-day church services, the wearing of thorns, and a deeply spiritual atmosphere, particularly in Asmara, Eritrea. It is the pinnacle of the fasting season, commemorating the Passion of Christ (Gebre Himamat). Christians engage in strict fasting, often avoiding all food and drink until the late afternoon. Many attend church services from early morning until 3:00 PM or later. As a public holiday in Eritrea, many businesses are closed. The day concludes with families gathering to break the fast with food and traditional coffee.
